A Northeast Texas man was arrested after forcing a plane to make an emergency landing last week.

Colby Isaac Hilleary, 24 of Greenville, was arrested March 2 after allegedly punching a flight attendant and forcing the plane to land early. The flight was heading from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Dallas, Texas, when Hilleary began acting erratically and punched the flight attendant. According to reports, Hilleary got out of his seat, went to the front of the plane and began yelling “the plane is going the wrong way,” “this plane has been hijacked,” and “there are no pilots on the plane.”

According to reports, the flight attendant attempted to calm him when he punched them. Passengers then restrained him until the plane could make the emergency landing.

Hilleary could face up to 20 years in federal prison. He was taken into custody by Hillsborough County officials where he was given a $2,000 bond. He is now in FBI custody.
