Two behind bars after combined law enforcement effort

On Wednesday, Dec. 26, the Hughes Springs Police Department contacted the Titus County Sheriff’s Office in regards to a possible location of a wanted fugitive identified as Ricky Joe Griffin.

Titus County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and deputies went to the reported location at the Budget Inn on West 16th Street. They located several people in the motel room including Giffin.

Suspected methamphetamine was observed in the room at the moment of Griffin’s capture and based on those observations, investigators obtained a search warrant where more of the illegal substance was found.

Titus County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ricky Joe Griffin, age 31, for the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in an amount of more than one gram and less than 4 grams. He was also booked into the Titus County Jail on the felony parole warrant issued out of Cass County, TX.

Also arrested was Jeremiah Jade Finley, age 33, for one charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class C Misdemeanor.
