Severe storms are possible this afternoon, with all modes possible (damaging winds, very large hail, and isolated tornadoes).

The Storm Prediction Center has us placed under a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather today. They have also included: “Multi-county swaths of damaging hail have occurred [in North Texas] with similar scenarios during recent years, and such potential exists again today.”

However, the above scenario only plays out if convection (storm formation) occurs. The atmosphere today has a lot of stuff going on in it and a lot of things would have to come together in order for the storms to form. If they do, storms could produce hail up to 2 inches.

Please stay focused on the weather today, and check back with us at for weather alerts.
